About The Position

The Vice President of Corporate Development at Amentum will lead the company's mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, collaborating with executive stakeholders to define and execute the M&A strategy. This role involves working closely with senior leaders to align inorganic initiatives with the overall corporate strategy, ensuring transparency and understanding of the rationale behind M&A decisions. The VP will also manage relationships with industry bankers and advisors, conduct due diligence, and develop integration strategies for acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline.
  • MBA from a highly regarded US graduate business school is preferred.
  • At least fifteen (15) years of multi-functional experience in industry, investment banking, private equity, and/or strategy consulting.
  • At least five (5) years of recent experience with a focus on mergers & acquisition activities.
  • Experience leading the analysis of multiple acquisition candidates, including valuations and recommendations to senior management.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Recent experience in the US Government Services and/or Aerospace & Defense market is highly desirable.
  • Successful culmination of multiple acquisition deals, including at least one exceeding $100M in value.

Responsibilities

  • Lead M&A activities for the enterprise in collaboration with executive stakeholders.
  • Conduct industry research and competitive analyses to support potential acquisitions.
  • Identify and source proprietary M&A and inorganic investments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry bankers and advisors.
  • Build and maintain an M&A pipeline for internal communication.
  • Coordinate company participation in management presentations and development of letters of intent.
  • Provide business and financial due diligence analyses of acquisition targets.
  • Manage external professional advisors' due diligence activities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams conducting due diligence on potential acquisition targets.
  • Provide Senior Executive level reports and valuation analysis in support of acquisitions.
  • Develop integration strategies and post-closure assimilation plans for acquisition targets.
  • Manage the overall merger and acquisition function for the corporation.
