About The Position

The Vice President of Content is the senior leader responsible for building and leading an integrated content organization across the company. This role oversees journalism, content production, and community-generated content, ensuring all work is aligned, structured, and distributed effectively to drive audience growth, engagement, and long-term sustainability. This is a builder role. The VP of Content will design systems, workflows, and operating models that unify teams and move the organization from siloed execution to coordinated, scalable content delivery.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in content, media, or journalism
  • Proven ability to build and scale content systems, teams, and workflows
  • Experience leading multi-platform content environments
  • Strong understanding of audience engagement and content performance
  • Experience aligning content strategy with revenue or business goals
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and transformation
  • Familiarity with digital-first content strategies and emerging media formats
  • Systems-oriented and execution-focused
  • Strong communicator with ability to align cross-functional teams
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership capability
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving change
  • Focused on measurable outcomes and performance

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead integrated content strategy across digital, broadcast, audio, and live platforms
  • Translate organizational priorities into clear content direction and execution plans
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO on audience growth and engagement
  • Build and implement a unified content operating system across teams
  • Establish planning cadence, workflows, and accountability structures
  • Lead transition from reactive production to structured, forward-planned execution
  • Align editorial, production, marketing, and distribution teams
  • Eliminate silos and ensure consistent communication and coordination
  • Drive operational clarity across content functions
  • Design and scale structured models for community participation
  • Establish standards, workflows, and governance for contributors and partners
  • Ensure credibility, quality, and alignment with editorial standards
  • Oversee content production aligned with strategic priorities
