Requirements

  • 7-10 years of work experience in media, preferably in ad sales and/or business development.
  • Formal legal training or significant experience working with legal documents preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Prior experience negotiating digital agreements including ad tech, licensing, and other digital rights/business arrangements.
  • Knowledge of the digital ecosystem, particularly in digital advertising.
  • Excellent and effective negotiating skills.
  • Creative thinking for resolving open issues.
  • Careful attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Strong initiative, self-starter, and ability to execute with strong instincts and excellent business judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate all aspects of Ad Sales business development deals, including SSP/DSP agreements, licensing, syndication, and commerce.
  • Interface with key stakeholder groups to ensure proposed deal terms meet objectives.
  • Compile deal memos and statements of work, providing input to the legal team on various agreements.
  • Craft negotiating strategies to achieve desired deal outcomes.
  • Ensure agreements are completed within desired timeframes while achieving key business points.
  • Review agreements for accuracy and ensure desired business points are achieved.
  • Translate business and tech terms into formal contract language and negotiate business terms within legal documents.
  • Multitask efficiently and accurately on tight timelines.
  • Manage a small Business Development deal team.
