About The Position

The position available is a Vice President role on the Non‑Market Risk team within the Institutional Equity Division (IED) Business Control Unit. The individual will work within a cross‑functional team with a primary focus on New Product Approvals (NPA) and Significant Modification Assessments (SMA). They will partner closely with senior stakeholders across IED and key control functions including Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology, Finance, Credit, MRD, Model Risk and GFC to ensure new activity and material changes are assessed, documented, approved and governed in line with internal policies, procedures, standards and controls.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in Financial Services or related field, with governance/risk/product change experience strongly preferred
  • Strong judgment and ability to identify and escalate issues appropriately
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort explaining complex workflows clearly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across levels of seniority
  • Strong project management skills and ability to drive work to completion across multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Owning day‑to-day execution of the NPA and SMA pipeline for IED, keeping submissions on track and decision‑ready
  • Working with Product Proposers and desk stakeholders to tighten scope, identify impacted entities/regions, and surface key risks, dependencies, and open questions early
  • Coordinating across control functions to drive required reviews, capture decisions and rationale, and ensure governance artifacts are complete and audit‑ready
  • Supporting the business in translating approvals into practical go-live requirements, including follow‑through on conditions, documentation, and execution readiness
  • Escalating issues appropriately when there are gaps in risk coverage, controls, documentation, or governance, and driving closure with the right owners
  • Identifying recurring friction points in the process and implementing lightweight fixes (templates, trackers, standards) to improve consistency and speed
  • Assisting with related regulatory or internal requests where NPA/SMA governance records, summaries, or evidence packs are needed
