About The Position

The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) was established by the Maryland General Assembly in 1998 to provide funding, resources, and connections to early-stage technology and life sciences to help them grow and thrive in Maryland. The Vice President, Marketing is responsible for the overall strategic direction, leadership, execution, and management of TEDCO’s marketing, brand, communications, and market development strategies designed to broaden awareness of TEDCO and its various programs, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and expand TEDCO’s reach across Maryland’s innovation ecosystem. This executive will position TEDCO and its offerings within a complex landscape of technology, entrepreneurship, investment, and public-private collaboration by translating mission, programs, and innovation priorities into clear market strategies that drive participation, visibility, and long-term growth. The VP will lead integrated go-to-market strategies, strategic partnerships, thought leadership, and data-driven marketing initiatives that support TEDCO’s mission and enterprise goals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business, or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, growth strategy, market development, communications, or related executive roles
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue-aligned growth, customer acquisition, engagement, and brand positioning initiatives
  • Proven experience in developing and executing go-to-market strategies and building strategic partnerships across public and private sector stakeholders
  • Strong experience leading market-facing initiatives in complex, mission-driven, innovation-focused, or ecosystem-based organizations
  • Strong analytical, planning, and performance management skills
  • Experience using CRM systems, data, and performance metrics to drive decision-making and organizational effectiveness
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to influence, lead, negotiate, and delegate
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and foster relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Team-oriented and open to collaborative decision-making
  • Ability to handle multiple, sometimes competing priorities effectively
  • Strategic, creative thinker with the ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure
  • Demonstrated competency in working with diverse cultures and audiences, and in developing messaging that resonates with broad groups while being sensitive to cultural differences and sensitivities
