About The Position
In a complex healthcare environment, managing risk effectively is critical to patient safety, financial stability, regulatory compliance, governance, and overall organizational success. It is necessary to drive coordination, standardization, and efficiency across risk functions. This position will serve as a senior leader of the Legal and Risk Services Department reporting directly to the General Counsel, working across the entire system and with senior leaders. Responsible at the enterprise level to shape, advance and deliver legal services with respect to all strategic enterprise risk management. This leader will help establish and oversee the Risk Operational Core Team (ROCT)—a centralized workgroup dedicated to integrating and aligning key risk functions across the system. This leader will develop a best-in-class risk program by fostering collaboration, optimizing processes, and enhancing enterprise-wide risk management strategies. Enterprise risk activities will be conducted under attorney client privilege and attorney work product. Additionally, as appropriate, matters will be subject to patient safety work product privilege. This position is responsible for unifying risk-related activities across the organization to ensure a coordinated, proactive, and strategic approach to risk management. This includes aligning risk functions across the enterprise to create a consistent and structured risk management framework and integrated risk data & insights to support informed decision-making, and enhancing operational effectiveness by streamlining processes, reducing redundancies, and optimizing risk management workflows.
