About The Position

Join AstraZeneca to lead and modernize how late-stage oncology trials are designed, delivered, and scaled. We’re seeking a visionary VP to shape our Late Development Oncology Clinical Operations strategy and drive high-quality, tech-enabled execution across a portfolio that spans solid tumors and hematology. This is a mission-critical role with global reach, meaningful impact, and the backing to innovate. What you’ll lead Portfolio-wide strategy and execution : Set direction and oversee clinical operations across late-stage oncology, ensuring trials deliver on time, to quality, and within budget. Enterprise-scale operations : Provide leadership for ~1,700 team members across 25 countries, including: Program Management : ~100 team members Study Management : ~200 team members Site Management & Monitoring : ~1,400 team members Clinical excellence at scale : Drive study planning, feasibility, risk management, monitoring, and global patient recruitment—built on standardized, compliant, and continuously improving practices. Digital and AI acceleration : Champion adoption and optimization of AstraZeneca’s digital, data, and AI strategy in clinical operations to improve speed, quality, and patient impact. Cross-functional leadership : Partner with Oncology R&D, BioPharma R&D Clinical Operations, and the Oncology Business Unit. Your most senior reports are core members of Global Product Teams and play leadership roles on Clinical Project Teams. People, partners, and performance : Build a high-performing, future-ready organization; implement flexible outsourcing models; develop best-in-class processes and systems; and own clinical trial budgets and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline
