We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Kubernetes System Engineer (Infrastructure Engineering) to join our App Engine Core Engineering team. This role is located in Jersey City, NJ or New York City, NY.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - Advanced certifications in infrastructure engineering or related disciplines preferred.
  • 6+ years of systems engineering experience in enterprise environments.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on Kubernetes infrastructure experience (cluster deployment, management, and security).
  • Strong Linux administration experience. Strong understanding of linux kernel internals.
  • Strong knowledge of container orchestration best practices and infrastructure design.
  • Kubernetes certification (CKA or similar) preferred.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, secure, and maintain highly available Kubernetes clusters, both on-prem and in cloud (AKS, OpenShift), ensuring performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Build and manage container orchestration infrastructure that supports internal developer platforms and critical client applications.
  • Monitor Kubernetes logs and cluster health; troubleshoot infrastructure-level and containerization issues to minimize downtime and ensure compliance.
  • Implement storage policies, security controls, patching protocols, and lifecycle management processes for containerized environments.
