About The Position

This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the U.S. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Vice President of Information Technology (Infrastructure and Cloud) responsible for leading the infrastructure teams in a hybrid multi-cloud environment and reporting to the CIO. In this role, you will develop and execute short-term plans and longer-range strategies to ensure highly available, scalable and reliable Infrastructure by adopting industry best practices. You will work across teams to ensure alignment with best practices and establish processes, tools and technology to deliver world class infrastructure both in our data centers as well as on the public cloud. You will lead teams and projects that are complex in nature and of strategic importance to Enlyte. In this role you will have a moderate number of direct reports consisting of directors and managers and will lead a team of approximately 35 talented IT employees and 150 managed services and staff augmentation contractors who primarily work remotely or offshore. This is a unique opportunity to lead and contribute to the strategic transformation of our infrastructure organization as we migrate more to the public cloud. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing and optimizing public cloud environments on AWS, Azure and GCP as well as deep experience with on-premises data centers. Extensive expertise with AWS is particularly crucial as it serves as our primary strategic cloud platform for our digital transformation initiatives. Experience leading the migration from on-premises data centers to public cloud environments is a critical requirement for this role. As the VP of IT Infrastructure, you will be responsible for managing and providing strategic direction to teams responsible for database administration (DBA), Server Systems and Administration, Storage and Backup, and Network Infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing technology infrastructure operations, preferably as a Vice President.
  • Strong expertise in managing both on-premises data centers and public cloud environments, with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Particularly deep knowledge of AWS architecture, services, and best practices is essential as it forms the cornerstone of our cloud strategy.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure components, including database systems, servers, storage systems, backup and recovery solutions, and network architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, containerization, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing infrastructure strategies that align with business goals and drive operational excellence.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, senior executives, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing and negotiating contracts with vendors and service providers.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of IT professionals responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our on-premises data centers hosted in co-location facilities and public cloud environments.
  • Provide strategic guidance and vision for the organization's technology infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and supports scalable growth.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive infrastructure roadmap, incorporating industry best practices, emerging technologies, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address infrastructure-related needs, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of systems and networks.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring effective delivery of contracted services and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Work closely with finance and cross functional leadership to effectively manage the budgets for Infrastructure and Cloud (both Capex and Opex).
  • Establish and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical infrastructure components, including data centers, public cloud, servers, storage, and networks.
  • Lead initiatives to automate and streamline infrastructure processes, improving operational efficiency and reducing manual interventions.
  • Spearhead cloud migration initiatives/strategy, working closely with and providing strategic guidance and direction to Cloud implementation partners/vendors.
  • Lead our organization's AWS-first cloud adoption strategy while leveraging its comprehensive service offerings to optimize infrastructure performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Build and leverage relationships with strategic vendors/partners to drive optimal long-term results for the business.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to infrastructure management, and recommend appropriate strategies and solutions.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of infrastructure professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities.

The expected base pay for this position ranges from $200,000 - $220,000 annually, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
