About The Position

The VP, Investor Relations and Capital Catalyst (VP, IRCC) is an executive role with three main priorities: in alignment with CCAEO, leading investor relations, sourcing capitalization and funding, and highly effective collaboration with the CFO, CEO, and business leads on capital strategies and execution, IRCC is responsible for all aspects and strategies associated with accelerating the aligned flow of capital between new and existing investors into IFF in a manner consistent with capitalization strategies, investor requirements, and deployment targets to meet the expanding needs of customers. The position will be based in one of IFF’s offices and will include geographic coverage across IFF’s full footprint, as well as the requirement to build national networks to expand IFF's capital base. In close partnership with the CCAEO and CFO, and in coordination with the CEO, the VP, IRCC, will oversee the development and execution of investor engagement and capital-raising strategies, manage investor relationships, and ensure IFF has the financial resources to meet its objectives in alignment with the financial forecast and mission. The VP, IRCC, operates at the supply-side interface of IFF’s enterprise capital system, coupling enterprise capital strategies with investor strategies, vehicles, and capital commitment between the supply and demand of capital to make markets more efficient by connecting stakeholders in the marketplace to the pipeline of projects cultivated by IFF. The individual will cultivate a network of investors across the capital continuum, understand their requirements, structure investment vehicles as necessary to optimally utilize that capital, and leverage IFF’s knowledge and skillsets to make projects happen. The VP, IRCC, has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the CFO for financial governance and compliance and will work closely with the Chief Regional Markets Officer (CRMO). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business, economics, accounting, or finance. Or equivalent experience in a similar position.
  • At least ten years of experience in the areas of commercial banking, accounting, investments, financial analysis, and/or credit for commercial, industrial, and nonprofit organizations required.
  • Demonstrated ability to network and build strong, lasting, and trusted relationships with investors as a responsible and effective steward and intermediary of capital.
  • Demonstrated experience with translating financial strategy into action with a track record in the capital markets and fundraising, and highly effective portfolio management and risk leadership.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial statements, capital requirements, forecasting, monitoring, ALM, and collaborative partnership on highly technical projects.
  • Regular travel throughout the Midwest region; occasional early start or extended hours and evening or weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Capital Strategy Development: Proactively co-create and execute IFF’s investor-facing capital sourcing strategy in partnership with the CCAEO and in collaboration with the CFO and CEO informed by forecasted business needs, balance sheet parameters, and capital markets trends and opportunities. Partner with the CFO and CCAEO to inform capital sourcing plans based on the five-year forecast, capitalization plan, liquidity needs and deployment targets. Ensure close collaboration with near and long-term compliance and reporting requirements. Incorporate strong feedback loops and learning from cross functional work to deepen the frame and perspective of IFF’s capital strategy development. Partner in the development and refinement of prospective capital provider lists utilizing IFF tools and cross functional analytics and business supports. Assist CEO and CFO with strategy articulation and presentation as requested to internal and external audiences. Closely partner with Controller and Treasurer and CFO on all dimensions of operational insights and planning from current investor set. Provide regular assessments and refinement of strategy based on execution, operational insights, and external context.
  • Investor Relations and Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with CFO, and CCAEO, CRMO to nurture, develop, and sustain relationships with all manner of capital providers including foundations, financial institutions, corporations, religious orders, and other impact investors to sustain and raise investments for IFF. Lead execution of plan in full alignment with IFF's established investor parameters, practices, covenants and in alignment with IFF’s mission. Stay aligned with business leads on capital tenor and purpose to meet near, mid and long-term capital needs. Ensure close collaboration with near and long-term compliance and reporting requirements. Build and maintain complete records in CASPER preliminary investor contact or inquiry through investment approval, compliance reporting, and closeout , independently and in alignment with cross functional teams. Maintain social box as sole source of truth for investor connectivity. Ensure CASPER records are completed to track status of loans as they move from application to commitment stage including key data on source of loan, date of inquiry and other process points. Ensure a complete record in CASPER on the account including key contacts, project information, and impact data.
  • Capitalization and Funding: Work in coordination with CCAEO, CEO, CFO, CRMO, and Controller and Treasurer to secure investments in alignment with existing investor options and/or structure new investment opportunities collaboratively that meet or exceed annual targets. Ensure that the Controller, Treasurer, and all corresponding legal, compliance, and reporting teams are aligned from opportunity through closing and receive all relevant information for post- close relationship management, and that files are accurate and complete. Actively participate in liquidity and ALM monitoring in partnership with the FNPA team, CFO, Controller, Treasurer, and CEO, taking primary responsibility for the timeliness and accuracy of capital source provider, timeline, and assumptions.
  • Compliance, Reporting, and Impact Measurement: Work in alignment with the CCAEO, work to close coordination with compliance, impact measurement, and reporting functions within IFF to evolve and improve the standards, rigor, and quality of compliance, reporting and impact measurement including collaborative leadership on AERIS and other external reporting requirements and close coordination with the Controller and Treasurer, CFO, and Legal team on all related dimensions. Works closely with the cross-functional impact and insights teams on the assessment, refinement, and evolution of impact measurement and reporting, as well as evaluating the efficacy of the impact metrics in attracting investors. Research and provide updates on capital markets and sectors or environment to inform capital aggregation and cross functional teams on emerging opportunities and risks.
