The Opportunity We're seeking an exceptional Vice President of Intensive Services to lead our specialized behavioral health programs serving individuals with complex mental health needs. This is more than a leadership role—it's an opportunity to shape the future of integrated care for our most vulnerable community members. In this position, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for our high-intensity clinical programs, including: Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) FIRST (First Episode Psychosis) / STARS (Specialized Treatment, Advocacy, and Recovery Services) Permanent Supported Housing You'll work alongside passionate, multidisciplinary teams committed to delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed care that makes a measurable difference in people's lives.

Requirements

  • Education: Master's degree in social work, counseling, nursing, psychology, or related field
  • Licensure: Independent clinical license (LISW-S or LPCC-S) required
  • Experience: 5+ years in nonprofit healthcare or behavioral health settings with progressive responsibility
  • 3+ years leading and developing interdisciplinary clinical teams
  • Proven track record with high-fidelity evidence-based practices (Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT), Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), First Episode Early Intervention for Psychosis, Housing First, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in quality improvement, program development, and achieving measurable clinical outcomes
  • Clinical Excellence: Strong understanding of integrated behavioral health, psychiatry, and primary care delivery
  • Financial Acumen: Experience developing and managing budgets, interpreting financial reports
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills; ability to engage diverse stakeholders with clarity and impact
  • Analytical Thinking: Data-driven problem-solver who turns insights into action
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in matrixed organizations with internal and external partners
  • Change Leadership: Experience leading teams through transformation with empathy and clarity
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with HRIS, data analytics, and productivity tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead with Vision
  • Direct the strategic implementation of evidence-based practices across intensive services programs
  • Establish quality protocols, metrics, and dashboards that drive excellence in integrated behavioral health and primary care
  • Identify innovative service delivery models and build partnerships that expand access to care
  • Champion data-driven decision-making to continuously improve client/patient outcomes
  • Drive Operational Excellence
  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams delivering high-fidelity evidence-based practices (Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT), Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), First Episode Early Intervention for Psychosis, Housing First, etc.)
  • Ensure seamless integration of behavioral health, psychiatry, and primary care
  • Manage operational, financial, quality, and regulatory compliance across the department
  • Develop budgets, business plans, and resource strategies that support program sustainability and growth
  • Develop People & Culture
  • Build and mentor high-performing, culturally diverse interdisciplinary teams
  • Create an inclusive environment where staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to innovate
  • Partner with HR on recruitment, retention, and professional development strategies
  • Foster a culture of psychological safety, continuous learning, and clinical excellence
  • Collaborate Across Systems
  • Partner with senior leadership to align intensive services with organizational strategic goals
  • Work with clinical operations teams to ensure smooth care transitions and coordination
  • Cultivate external partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and regulatory bodies
  • Stay current on healthcare trends and emerging models in integrated behavioral health
