About the position

The Vice President, Individual Giving, will play a crucial leadership role in maximizing donor potential and building satisfaction and loyalty within the Museum's individual giving programs. This individual will oversee Leadership Giving, Major Gifts, and Giving Societies, ensuring continued revenue growth and donor engagement. As a key strategic leader, the VP will collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer to develop and implement multi-year strategies to significantly increase individual gifts in both revenue and program expansion. This position requires a dynamic fundraising leader who can manage a high-performing team, cultivate new donors, and drive a culture of philanthropy across the Museum.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of individual donor relationships and pipeline, ensuring growth in donor engagement and revenue.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the number and size of individual gifts to the Museum.
  • Manage a team of seven fundraising professionals, setting ambitious and attainable revenue goals.
  • Foster professional growth and implement metrics-driven strategies for team success.
  • Maintain a personal portfolio of 50-100 leadership giving prospects of six-figures or more, prioritizing new donor engagement.
  • Collaborate with senior staff, trustees, and volunteers to enhance donor relationships.
  • Lead efforts to recruit new board members and leverage their networks to cultivate prospects.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop donor communication materials, reports, and engagement strategies.
  • Oversee portfolio, pipeline, and moves management strategies to ensure successful fundraising outcomes.
  • Ensure a top-tier donor stewardship program in collaboration with Advancement colleagues.
  • Regularly provide detailed reports on individual giving activities for the Chief Advancement Officer.
  • Ensure data-driven decision-making and transparency in fundraising progress.
  • Provide support for special initiatives and broader Museum fundraising efforts.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including leadership, major, and annual giving.
  • Experience securing six- and seven-figure gifts and growing donor relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate with executives, trustees, and senior staff in fundraising efforts.
  • Bachelor's Degree; additional fundraising or management certifications are a plus.
  • Capital Campaign and Cultural Institution experience a plus.
