About The Position

Parry Labs is seeking a Vice President of Hardware Markets to own the full market lifecycle for our extensive hardware catalog, from pipeline generation and pricing strategy through product investment alignment and operating budget execution. This is a senior leadership role that sits at the intersection of business development, product strategy, and operational accountability. The VP, Hardware Markets will lead teams and build a culture of performance and accountability across hardware-focused growth activities. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in defense hardware products — including edge compute, mission computing, and integrated systems — and has a proven ability to align internal R&D investments to real market demand, drive differentiated product positioning, and deliver results against operating metrics. This role requires significant on-site presence at our Columbia, MD facility or willingness to travel up to 50% to support customer engagements, program reviews, and team operations.

  • 12+ years of experience in defense hardware business development, product management, or program leadership with direct P&L or cost center accountability.
  • Demonstrated experience growing a hardware product line or catalog in the defense market, including competitive wins and market share expansion.
  • Strong understanding of defense hardware development and production cycles, including LRIP, full-rate production, and sustainment economics.
  • Experience developing and managing operating budgets and product cost centers in a government contracting environment.
  • Proven leadership experience; track record of building and sustaining high-performing teams.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Located in Columbia, MD or willing to travel up to 50% to support on-site requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MOSA-aligned or open architecture hardware products for defense platforms.
  • Familiarity with edge compute, small form factor mission computers, and rugged electronics for airborne and ground applications.
  • Knowledge of Other Transaction Authority (OTA) vehicles, SBIR/STTR, and rapid prototyping contract mechanisms.
  • Experience supporting Army Aviation, UAS, or ground vehicle integration programs.

Responsibilities

  • Own the hardware product pipeline and growth strategy; lead pursuit identification, customer engagement, and capture activities for Parry's edge compute, mission computing, and hardware systems catalog.
  • Develop and execute pricing strategies across the hardware portfolio, including competitive analysis, should-cost modeling, and margin optimization in coordination with Finance and Program teams.
  • Serve as the primary business owner for hardware product cost centers; manage internal R&D investment allocations in coordination with the Product Governance Board.
  • Drive product strategy and market positioning for existing and new hardware products, identifying gaps between market demand and current portfolio and translating them into funded development priorities.
  • Lead and develop a team of growth and market professionals; set clear expectations, establish accountability structures, and drive performance aligned to Parry's growth objectives.
  • Oversee operating budgets for hardware growth activities; track spend against plan, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Build and sustain customer relationships across Army, Navy, Air Force, and SOCOM acquisition communities for hardware products; represent Parry at key industry events and with strategic partners.
  • Support early-stage and pre-production hardware programs by aligning customer requirements to product roadmaps and ensuring appropriate resourcing for demonstration, prototyping, and transition activities.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Product teams to ensure market-driven requirements are reflected in hardware development cycles and product roadmaps.
