As Vice President, Group Creative Director, you’ll be our most senior creative leader, responsible for Hagerty’s creative outputs across the business. Partnering with a Creative Business Director, you’ll concept and produce world-class ideas from briefs developed by internal marketing leaders. You’ll be a passionate car enthusiast, driving the development of smart, strategic, and emotionally resonant work that will both solve the needs of any given brief, and reflect our purpose of making it easier and more enjoyable to be a driving enthusiast. You’ll blend strategic insight with creative excellence, equally strong in conceptual ideas, writing, art direction and storytelling. Your big ideas will come to life across a range media and non-media environments and surfaces, including digital, social, influencer, events, experiential, print and film.

Requirements

  • A deep, authentic passion for cars, driving and automotive culture, with a genuine connection to our audience of driving enthusiasts.
  • 12+ years of creative experience at a nationally-known creative agency or large-scale in-house environment, having lead and guided teams to develop their very best ideas and execution.
  • A portfolio of award winning, business driving work that reflects both personal creative excellence and the elevation of work through others.
  • Exceptional creative judgement across concepting, writing, art direction and design, with a keen eye for spectacular photography, especially of cars.
  • Charismatic, you’ll persuasively represent ideas to sell them in.
  • A curious, glass-half-full person who gets excited about figuring out how to do things that have never been done before.
  • An intuitive understanding of how people think and make decisions.
  • The ability to thrive in complexity, build alignment and move things forward.
  • The judgment to know when to push and when to listen.
  • This role can be worked from any U.S. remote location with regular in-person reporting to Head Office in Traverse City, MI
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable.
  • For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the concepting, development and execution of integrated brand and marketing work across all Hagerty lines of business.
  • Partner closely with marketing, strategy, and product teams to translate briefs into innovative ideas that connect emotionally with driving enthusiasts.
  • Elevate creative quality across writing, art direction, design and production to ensure clear, inspiring and consistent brand expression.
  • Mentor and inspire a multi-disciplinary creative team, fostering a culture of curiosity, creative and execution excellence.
  • Champion Hagerty’s voice, visual language, and creative standards across channels, from digital and social, to live events, experiences and film.
  • Represent creative thinking at the executive level, helping shape Hagerty’s broader brand and growth strategies.
