The Vice President (VP), Global Medical Education – Sports Medicine Business Unit, will serve as the enterprise leader and architect of the global medical education strategy for one of the company’s largest and fastest-growing franchises. This role is accountable for shaping and executing a world-class medical education vision that drives surgeon adoption, expands access to innovation, and enables sustained commercial growth. The VP will lead the transformation of medical education into a strategic growth enabler, ensuring that global and local programs are scientifically robust, scalable, and clinically relevant. This includes full accountability for global content strategy, delivery platforms, faculty development, partnerships with societies and academic institutions, and the governance of educational excellence. Additionally, this role will double up as the US Medical Education leader, ensuring alignment between global strategy and US execution to address key surgeon learning needs and market development priorities. What will you be doing? 1. Global Medical Education Strategy & Vision - Working closely with the SVP Global Marketing SPM, develop and own the long-term strategic roadmap for Medical Education across the Sports Business Unit globally. - Define a future-ready education model that supports rapid technology adoption, expands surgeon proficiency, and differentiates the company in the marketplace. - Align global medical education objectives with commercial and clinical strategies to drive measurable market impact. - Ensure global education strategy reflects changing healthcare landscapes, digital learning trends, and surgeon expectations. 2. Content, Delivery & Learning Innovation - Lead the content strategy and channels of delivery aligned to specific therapeutic areas and surgeon learning pathways. - Ensure HCP learning needs, as identified by regional MedEd teams and clinical experts, are translated into best-in-class global curricula. - Oversee the development of standardized education frameworks, course design, and faculty development programs to ensure consistent quality worldwide. - Drive digital transformation of education — including blended learning, simulation, remote training, and advanced analytics to measure effectiveness. - Embed patient-centric and evidence-based approaches into all education programs. 3. Societies, Fellowships & External Engagement - Define and lead the global strategy for society engagement, fellowship programs, and academic partnerships. - Build and sustain trusted relationships with KOLs, professional societies, academic institutions, and teaching hospitals. - Position the company as a partner of choice for advancing clinical practice and education in Sports Medicine globally. - Create high-impact global fellowship models and faculty development programs that build long-term loyalty and clinical advocacy. 4. US Medical Education Leadership - In addition to global responsibilities, serve as the US Medical Education Leader, working closely with the US General Manager and commercial organization. - Design and execute the US education strategy, ensuring it reflects domestic surgeon learning needs, regulatory compliance, and commercial objectives. - Oversee delivery of US educational activities including anatomical surgical courses, visitations, literature services, digital training platforms, and surgeon engagement initiatives. - Align global programs to US market dynamics and ensure rapid deployment of innovations into the US education ecosystem. 5. Organizational Leadership & Talent Development - Lead and develop a global team of Medical Education leaders, content managers, and operational experts. - Build strong bench strength and leadership succession to support future franchise growth. - Establish a center of excellence for medical education that enables knowledge sharing, capability building, and continuous improvement across regions. - Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and clinical integrity. 6. Compliance, Governance & Performance - Establish robust global governance to ensure regulatory, quality, and ethical compliance across all educational activities. - Implement measurement frameworks to track the impact of education on surgeon behavior, technology adoption, and business growth. - Ensure all programs meet global standards and comply with healthcare codes, country regulations, and internal policies. - Partner with internal functions (Legal, Compliance, Marketing, R&D) to ensure alignment and accountability.
