As Vice President, Global Manufacturing , reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain, you will lead Boston Scientific’s global manufacturing network—spanning multiple sites —to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant production of life-changing medical technologies. You will serve as the strategic interface between divisional leadership and the global supply chain organization, shaping long-term capabilities that enable sustained growth, accelerate innovation, and improve patient outcomes. This role carries enterprise-wide influence and accountability for defining and executing the long-range manufacturing and supply network strategy—ensuring our global operations are equipped to support evolving commercial strategies, technology advancements, and business growth. You will be empowered to lead across boundaries, unlock value through collaboration, and guide transformative initiatives that align with Boston Scientific’s mission and bold ambitions for the future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in global supply chain, including 3+ years at the vice president level.
  • Foundational leadership experience running a complex operational or manufacturing organization within global supply chain.
  • Proven record of achieving measurable results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvement.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and large-scale transformation leadership.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and change management skills.
  • Experience managing complex matrixed structures and influencing across functions and geographies.
  • High sense of urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership presence.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience leading a multi-site global manufacturing network in a regulated industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, or high-tech preferred).
  • Successful management of manufacturing facilities of substantial scale.

Responsibilities

  • Global Network Leadership Lead site manufacturing across multiple plants in a regional Global Supply Chain organization.
  • Be a strategic partner and GSC representative to a business division. This role will be part of the GSC senior leadership team.
  • Establish clear governance, accountability, and alignment across sites, regions, and divisions in partnership with Supply Chain and Quality leadership.
  • Manufacturing Strategy and Execution Define and execute a multi-year manufacturing and capacity strategy that supports business growth, innovation, and resiliency.
  • Oversee network-level P&L performance, capital investments, and cost productivity targets in partnership with divisional and supply chain finance.
  • Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement Champion a culture of Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving discipline across all manufacturing sites.
  • Standardize best practices in safety, quality systems, maintenance/reliability, and workforce engagement.
  • Drive year-over-year productivity, OEE, and cost-of-quality improvements through global initiatives.
  • Build manufacturing capabilities in automation, Industry 4.0, and advanced analytics.
  • Compliance, Quality, and Patient Safety Ensure all sites maintain world-class compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, MDR, and global regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Quality, Regulatory, and R&D to embed design-for-manufacture and robust validation standards.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and audit readiness across the network.
  • Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation Lead the deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies, smart factory systems, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Integrate AI, IoT, MES, and predictive analytics to enhance visibility, reliability, and performance.
  • Partner with R&D to accelerate technology transfers, scale new platforms, and industrialize innovation.
  • Talent and Culture Cultivate and develop top manufacturing leadership talent; build succession plans for site and regional leaders.
  • Foster a diverse, inclusive, and high-performance culture built on trust, collaboration, and empowerment.
  • Inspire teams globally through purpose-driven leadership and visible engagement.
