About The Position

The Vice President of Global Investment Banking at RBC Capital Markets, LLC in New York, NY is responsible for developing detailed financial models, including restructuring, financing, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) models. The role involves conducting asset level due diligence on buyer/seller portfolios and executing capital markets transactions. This includes reviewing legal documents, completing Know Your Client (KYC) processes, performing company-level due diligence, and preparing committee memos. The Vice President will present market updates and new ideas to clients, participate in pitches and calls, and maintain internal logs of precedent transactions. They will also actively follow M&A deals, calculate premiums paid, and valuations, while developing sector-based knowledge to present overviews of current trends. The position requires conducting due diligence sessions, identifying operational risks, and reviewing the work of Analysts. Additionally, the Vice President will train new Analysts and Interns on industrial concepts and financial modeling. Telecommuting is permitted one day per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 4 years of related work experience.
  • 4 years of experience in capital markets.
  • Experience in spreadsheet modeling utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • Managing all aspects of transaction processes including preparation of pitches and financial analyses.
  • Presenting analyses and deliverables in both internal and external meetings.
  • Transactional experience in both buy-side and sell-side mandates with public companies.
  • FINRA Series 79 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sector-based knowledge and conduct thorough research on diligence sector trends.
  • Conduct due diligence sessions with companies.
  • Identify operational risks/control deficiencies and escalate them to the line manager.
  • Review work of Analysts and train new Analysts and Interns.
