About The Position

What is the opportunity? When companies need to raise equity capital – whether through an IPO, a follow-on offering or a Convertible – ECM is at the center of it. As a Vice President on our Equity Capital Markets desk, you’ll bridge origination and execution while developing client relationships with increasing independence. You’ll own significant workstreams on live transactions, advise corporate clients on equity issuance strategy, and help shape the market intelligence and deal structuring that defines how we bring offerings to market. What will you do? Lead execution of equity transaction end-to-end (IPOs, FOs, Blocks, Converts) – managing deal timelines, coordinating across internal desks, and serving as primary point of contact for clients and external counsel Drive origination efforts by identifying equity issuance opportunities across sectors, developing client-ready market update materials and contributing directly to pitch strategy alongside Senior bankers Provide clients with real-time market color, investor demand analysis and pricing recommendations, synthesizing inputs from Syndicate, Sales and trading into actionable advice Oversee the work product of Analysts and Associates – setting the standard for quality on pitchbooks, roadshow materials and transaction analyses Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors to inform deal structuring and book-building strategy Manage due diligence processes and coordinate with legal, compliance and external advisors to ensure clean, timely execution Contribute to the development of thought leadership on ECM market trends, sector dynamics and capital markets strategy for client dialogue What do you need to success? 5-7 years of investment banking or capital markets experience preferred, with meaningful ECM transaction experience Ability to manage multiple live deals as well as an active pitch calendar with limited oversight Strong client presence and communication skills Deep fluency in ECM dynamics Proven ability to mentor and develop junior talent What’s in it for you? The expected salary for this particular position is $275,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC’s discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals. Requirements

  • 5-7 years of investment banking or capital markets experience preferred, with meaningful ECM transaction experience
  • Ability to manage multiple live deals as well as an active pitch calendar with limited oversight
  • Strong client presence and communication skills

  • Proven ability to mentor and develop junior talent
