About The Position

We are seeking an accomplished compliance leader to serve as our Head of Sanctions Compliance, a Vice President–level position responsible for setting the strategic direction and ensuring enterprise‑wide execution of our global sanctions compliance program. This highly visible role provides thought leadership on sanctions‑related matters, partnering closely with senior executives, global business lines, regulators, and technology teams to uphold the organization’s commitment to ethical conduct and regulatory excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 15+ years in financial crimes or sanctions compliance within financial services, fintech, or a multinational corporation.
  • Senior leadership role overseeing global sanctions programs.
  • Expertise in global sanctions regimes (OFAC, HM Treasury, EU, UN) and export controls.
  • Strong understanding of sanctions screening technologies, analytics, and risk modeling.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional/global teams and influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Advanced degree (Master’s, JD, or equivalent).
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS, CGSS, CRCM, or equivalent.
  • Experience in large, global, matrixed organizations.
  • Track record of leveraging technology and innovation to improve compliance effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Define and advance the global sanctions compliance strategy to align with enterprise risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance sanctions policies, procedures, and control frameworks across products, services, and regions.
  • Oversee the design, testing, and continuous improvement of sanctions screening systems, customer and transaction screening, analytics, and risk modeling.
  • Lead enterprise‑wide sanctions risk assessments and ensure remediation and mitigation strategies are applied by business partners.
  • Manage and develop a team of sanctions compliance professionals, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
  • Allocate resources and set priorities for the sanctions program, including vendor oversight and technology investments.
  • Present sanctions compliance metrics, risk insights, and program updates to senior leadership, board committees, auditors, and regulators.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulators and external stakeholders on sanctions and export control matters and oversee enterprise training and awareness programs.
