About The Position

Senior Relationship Manager for the Fund Finance (“FF”) team Americas in ING's New York office. The FF team is part of ING Sector Coverage and covers clients within the investment management industry including alternative asset management firms and financial sponsors, publicly traded investment funds, and private investment vehicles. The team has a primary focus on originating Capital Call, Private Credit, and NAV based transactions with a focus on structured corporate financings, as well as involvement in financial markets (strategic and flow hedging of FX, and interest rates), as well as DCM/ECM. As a leading player in this space, we actively work with our clients to provide tailored solutions. Looking for your next opportunity for development? The Vice President role offers a mix between the financial, technical, legal, and commercial aspects of managing client relationships. You will work with other team members in the analysis, financial modeling, negotiation, sourcing, and managing of client relationships and complex financings across the sector in the Americas.

Requirements

• Expertise in fund finance loan origination and execution with a special emphasis on the North American alternative asset managers.
• Experience in structures ranging from BDC corporate revolvers, capital call facilities, NAV facilities, SPV financing and Middle Market securitization.
• Strong (financial) analysis capability, with a keen interest in the sector and commercial acumen.
• Proven relationship management as well as deal execution skills as a lead banker.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint): must have outstanding Excel skills and strong modeling skills.
• Strong presentation and oral/written communication skills.
• Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve the way the team works and coach/train other team members.
• Collaborative and able to work effectively across functions and regions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the origination and structuring of financing solutions for the FF team, with an emphasis on capital call and portfolio finance transactions in the North American alternative asset industry.
• Client coverage in collaboration with other ING product teams (e.g. Financial Markets, DCM, Capital Markets & Advisory, Corporate Finance) to maximize client cross-buy opportunities and total client return, including prepare pitches and support strategy discussions with existing and new FF clients to position ING for lead mandates.
• Involvement in all stages of the financing process, with a primary focus on client relationship management, origination, structuring and advising functions.
• Be the deal captain in the deal team with ultimate responsibility over deal execution (in collaboration with the Transaction Management team) and obtaining credit and management approvals.
• Assist in the hand-off of transactions to the Portfolio Management team and coordinate with them on material amendments, waivers and consents on transactions and provide input and support where and as needed.
• Contribute to credit, industry & market analysis and be a senior ING representative during industry events.
• Support the global Fund Finance platform and contribute to the development of junior team members.
