About The Position

Octagos Health is a dynamic and rapidly growing healthcare technology company dedicated to improving patient outcomes through advanced healthcare solutions. We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Vice President of Engineering to oversee and own the strategy and development of our engineering department. The Vice President of Engineering will be responsible for aligning with the executive team's vision with the technical strategy, mentoring the engineering team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, and fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement. In concert with the CEO and CTO, this position oversees all engineering efforts, drives innovation, and ensures the delivery of high-quality technology solutions. This is an office-based position located in Houston, Texas, with quarterly travel to India required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as engineering or computer science
• Master's degree with a focus on engineering management or technology management is preferred
• 10+ years of engineering management experience
• 5+ years in a leadership role
• Experience managing SaaS from inception through launch and iteration
• Experience managing cross-functional teams including product and engineering in a high-growth, early-stage environment

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the technical vision and strategy for engineering
• Align engineering efforts with the company's overall business goals
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends
• Develop and implement engineering processes and best practices
• Work cross-functionally to collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure alignment on customer feedback, feature requests, and product development priorities
• Act as a key liaison between the CEO, CTO and product teams to ensure the right solutions are delivered
• Maintain a strong understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, and system design
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Conduct technical reviews and provide feedback on code quality and architecture
• Optimize engineering processes and workflows
• Manage R D costs and ensure efficient resource allocation
• Monitor and measure key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Identify and address bottlenecks and inefficiencies
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers, including directors, managers, and development teams
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture
• Provide engineer individual and team lead performance feedback and conduct regular reviews to maximize quality and speed of output
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of engineers
