About The Position

The Vice President of Mobile Handset Software at Qualcomm is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the software development efforts for Qualcomm's Mobile Handset line of products. This position requires a deep understanding of application processors, modem and connectivity technologies, and the complete software stack from firmware to application layers. The VP will lead a team in planning, executing, and delivering commercial Chipset System Software, ensuring quality and timely execution across a large roadmap portfolio. The role involves collaboration with various teams, driving innovative features, and serving as the technical point of engagement for external parties.

Requirements

• Fifteen (15) or more years of related professional experience in technology and product management.
• Six (6) years of leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or a related technical field of study.

Nice To Haves

• Twenty (20) years of experience in software development/engineering including 15+ years within the Mobile domain.
• Ten (10) years in a senior leadership role leading large global software teams.
• Experience working in and scaling ecosystems and teams, embedded platforms.
• Deep full stack understanding of operating systems and/or software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the software engineering efforts for Qualcomm's Mobile Handset products.
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of commercial Chipset System Software.
• Ensure quality and on-time execution on a large roadmap portfolio with cross-geo teams.
• Drive pathfinding and planning for new and innovative features on Qualcomm's Mobile products.
• Communicate engineering status of projects to executives.
• Resolve all software issues on the chipset across subsystems and components.
