We are looking for a VP, Senior Product Design Operations to join the Wealth Services platform within BNY. The candidate will be responsible for the orchestration and optimization of the people, processes, and practices necessary to foster a creative environment for dynamic design in service of our customers across desktop, web-based, and mobile applications. The candidate will leverage their leadership and program management skills to support and help develop best practices for the UX team on how we work together, and how we get work done.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Project Management/Operations role.
  • Comfortable in a leadership or team member role (player/coach mentality).
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed, global, or multi-national organizations.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team from meeting strategic, business, or financial goals.
  • Strong data-driven visual, verbal, and written storytelling skills with ability to bring partners along.
  • Track record in using a strategic approach to solve complicated problems and strong collaboration skills in order to bring partners into the process.
  • Strong communication skills, articulating the impact and supporting decisions with grace, logic, and data.
  • Comfortable working with different levels of leadership in order to define the roadmap and prioritization for key programs and initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the financial services industry, security markets, and regulations.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the operational foundation, strategy, and direction to ensure the UX teams have what they need to thrive and deliver great work aligned with strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate internal meetings, coordinate with head of design ops on scheduling/HR/team health/budget, identify pain points in internal processes, and implement solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Coach, mentor, guide, and assign/schedule work across the design studio team in collaboration with design leads, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
  • Utilize data to articulate rationale and explain recommendations with authority and openness.
  • Advocate for design with partners and leaders at different levels.
  • Build trust and proactively partner with UX, Product, Tech, and Business stakeholders to set the stage for the team to achieve exceptional outcomes.

  • The base salary for this position is expected to be between $109,000 and $203,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
