About The Position

The Vice President of Demand Planning & Replenishment is a strategic enterprise leader accountable for the global demand planning and replenishment functions. This role drives the development of accurate, data-driven forecasts across all channels (Retail, Online, and Wholesale) ensuring the right product is available in the right place at the right time. This role will lead inventory optimization, allocation, and replenishment strategies that support growth, protect margin, and elevate the client experience. This leader is also a visionary, responsible for driving transformation across tools, processes, and ways of working to accelerate planning maturity and position the organization at the forefront of advanced, technology-enabled planning. Success in this role requires deep partnership with Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, commercial partners translating insights into actionable plans that enable profitable, aligned, cross-functional decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, replenishment, or broader supply chain roles, with at least 5 years leading global or enterprise-level planning organizations.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing both demand planning and store/DC replenishment in a complex, fast-paced, multi-channel retail environment.
  • Proven track record of improving forecast accuracy, optimizing inventory parameters (e.g., safety stock, reorder points, min/max levels), and driving end-to-end planning transformation.
  • History of leading system implementations, advanced analytics initiatives, or AI/ML-driven forecasting solutions.
  • Expertise with modern planning platforms such as SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, o9, Toolio or equivalent enterprise forecasting and replenishment systems.
  • Strong command of inventory planning principles—including product lifecycle forecasting, attribute-based planning, demand sensing, and replenishment modeling.
  • Advanced analytical, quantitative, and financial skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights and influence executive decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of assortment strategies, channel complexity, and supply chain dynamics within luxury or fashion-driven product categories.
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, KPIs, and reporting structures for forecasting accuracy, inventory health, and replenishment performance.
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to align diverse global stakeholders around a unified planning and inventory vision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the global demand planning function, setting the long-term vision and defining the processes, tools, and capabilities required to achieve world-class forecasting accuracy.
  • Oversee the development of short- and long-term demand forecasts across all channels, product categories, and locations (stores, key accounts, online, etc.), with particular focus on core assortments.
  • Review cannibalization impacts and optimize product lifecycle forecasting to ensure accurate demand signals across newness, core, and end-of-life products.
  • Oversee the creation of purchase plans that ensure timely and efficient replenishment of the Distribution Centers, aligning supply with forecasted demand and inventory targets.
  • Establish clear KPIs, governance mechanisms, and forecasting standards to drive consistency, accountability, and excellence across the enterprise.
  • Identify and quantify key demand drivers, including marketing initiatives, operational constraints, and macroeconomic trends—to proactively inform forecasts and inventory decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with Merchandising to understand the unique attributes and strategic positioning of each product, ensuring forecasts and replenishment plans reflect product-specific nuances.
  • Lead the global replenishment and allocation function to ensure optimal inventory levels across all stores, channels, and regions, supporting sales, margin, and client experience goals.
  • Develop and execute allocation strategies that balance demand, store capacity, productivity, and assortment intent to place the right product in the right location at the right time.
  • Oversee the creation and refinement of replenishment models to ensure consistent availability of core and high-turning items while minimizing excess and aged inventory.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising, Retail, and Supply Chain to align inventory flow with product launches, promotional activity, and seasonal transitions.
  • Implement advanced analytics, automation, and decision-support tools that enhance allocation precision, inventory visibility, and responsiveness.
  • Establish KPIs and governance frameworks to monitor in-stock performance, inventory health, and store-level productivity, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Product teams to understand assortment strategies, product life cycles, trend influences, and launch expectations.
  • Partner closely with Vendor Management and Sourcing to understand delays ensure appropriate stock levels and minimize out-of-stocks.
  • Work with Finance on S&OP processes, aligning forecasting output with financial planning and revenue targets.
  • Engage Retail and eCommerce teams to capture demand signals and optimize channel allocation.
  • Own the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process
  • Lead implementation and enhancement of advanced forecasting, replenishment, and allocation tools—including machine learning solutions, decision-support models, and next-generation planning platforms.
  • Establish and maintain core inventory parameters (safety stock, reorder points, min/max levels, service targets, lead-time assumptions) within systems to enable consistent, automated, and optimized inventory decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvements to planning, allocation, and replenishment processes to increase forecast accuracy, reduce stock-outs and excess inventory, and optimize working capital across channels.
  • Strengthen end-to-end data governance and integration between demand planning, supply planning, replenishment, finance, and merchandising systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and real-time visibility.
  • Support global reporting capabilities by delivering clear, actionable dashboards that provide insight into demand trends, forecast accuracy, inventory health, replenishment performance, and risk/opportunity areas.
  • Partner with Technology and Supply Chain to evaluate and deploy emerging tools in predictive analytics, automation, and AI to elevate planning maturity and accelerate decision-making.
  • Provide strategic insight into market trends, consumer behavior shifts, macroeconomic conditions, channel performance, and competitive dynamics that influence demand and inventory strategy.
  • Lead the S&OP/IBP cycle, ensuring alignment across Demand, Supply, Merchandising, Finance, and Retail; present forecast updates, inventory outlooks, scenario planning, and business risks to executive leadership.
  • Partner with Merchandising and Retail to guide inventory strategies for new product introductions, transitions, and end-of-life management, ensuring inventory aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing global planning organization—spanning demand planning, replenishment, and allocation—with strong analytical, technical, and strategic capability.
  • Promote a culture of agility, data literacy, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement to elevate decision quality and operational performance.
  • Serve as a visionary thought leader, championing the adoption of advanced tools, modern planning methodologies, and innovative ways of working that position the organization at the forefront of planning excellence.
