About The Position

The Vice President of Corporate Responsibility & Government Relations will lead and support the development and execution of strategies related to corporate responsibility and government relations. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong analytical and project management skills, who can effectively communicate and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a corporate responsibility or government relations function
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, work quality, timeliness and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, relationship management and inter‐personal skills
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Data analysis background
  • Knowledge of federal political and regulatory landscape and policymaking, ideally as it relates to housing finance and financial markets
  • Knowledge of the ESG ecosystem including rating agencies, reporting frameworks and regulatory landscape
  • Strong work ethic with a proactive, team‐oriented attitude
  • High degree of integrity and character
  • Interest in building and maintaining long‐term client relationships
  • Strive to contribute to and improve efficiencies

Nice To Haves

  • Financial services background
  • Policy or government relations experience, with a background in housing policy
  • Corporate responsibility, communications, IR, and/or marketing background

Responsibilities

  • Drive/lead projects and programs working collaboratively across a broad range of internal stakeholders
  • Support Annaly's strategy to influence federal government policies that impact our business
  • Help track and synthesize regulatory, policy, and political developments that impact housing finance, financial markets, and the economy
  • Drive processes and write content for Annaly's Corporate Responsibility reports, website updates and ESG reporting frameworks
  • Help monitor ESG developments and drive results with stakeholders in the ESG ecosystem
  • Help manage external relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry groups, corporate philanthropy partners and ESG rating agencies
  • Help execute the Company's corporate philanthropy and volunteerism strategy
