About The Position

Leads strategic work to monetize our content through audience growth, deep engagement and strategic partnerships. They will collaborate with the newsroom, product, analytics, and sales teams, influence to drive north start metrics for overall audience, subscription and ultimately growth in sustainable revenue. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, cross-functional collaboration, deep data analysis, and strong communication skills to translate complex audience insights into actionable strategies that drive growth, loyalty and revenue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business preferred or relative work experience.
  • At least 7 years of executive experience overseeing audience growth, subscription services, content marketing, customer support and related fields.
  • Well-established track record of managing teams both directly and indirectly through collaboration.
  • Proficiency in managing revenue and expense budgets with clear and concise executive level reporting of KPIs.
  • Experience working with analytical and reporting tools, communicating findings to key stakeholders and broad groups.
  • Product – Expertise in web, app, email and emerging products that drive growth and innovation
  • Data & Analytics: Expertise in advanced analytics, machine learning, audience segmentation, and data visualization tools.
  • Media & Content Knowledge: Deep understanding of media, content, audience behavior, SEO, and social media algorithms.
  • Leadership & Management: Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and manage high-performing teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to explain complex data to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate complex insights into actionable business recommendations and strategic initiatives.
  • Industry Trends: Awareness of current audience measurement tools, data platforms, and emerging AI applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and development of consumer marketing and customer support teams
  • Develop long-term strategy and short-term action plan for sustained audience growth and overall consumer revenues.
  • Plan, budget, track and achieve subscription revenue and volume goals.
  • Drive data-driven pricing to balance volume and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with leaders from newsroom, sales, product and data to optimize go-to-market strategy to monetize our content through products, customer life-cycle management to drive best outcomes.
  • Prioritize all engagement and retention metrics and their contribution to achieve goals and objectives
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices for acquisition, engagement, and retention of target audience.
  • Collaborate with sales and product leaders in the integration of various data sources (first-party, third-party, behavioral) to create a unified view of the audience.
  • Champion consumer-centric strategies and stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies like generative AI.
  • Drive experimentation of innovative experience and engagement features leading to incremental revenue growth and process optimization.
  • Identify and grow new opportunities to monetize content through strategic partnerships via external channels and innovative deals.
  • Provide the best customer service based on target audience/subscriber needs while optimizing for cost and efficiency.
