About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • Security certification (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Healthcare Security (CHS) and/or other security certifications)
  • ITIL Foundations certification required within six months of position start date
  • 10 years of experience with information technology, with at least five years in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience in healthcare information security, with a proven track record of leading large-scale technology projects and managing teams

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or master's degree in technology or business field
  • Proven expertise in cybersecurity leadership within large, complex organizations, ideally within healthcare or similarly regulated industries
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement robust cybersecurity programs that deliver measurable results
  • Strong technical acumen, combined with exceptional strategic, operational and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Execute a visionary cybersecurity strategy that aligns with Cleveland Clinic's enterprise goals & care priorities.
  • Lead with an understanding of industry benchmarks and emerging threats, leveraging Cleveland Clinic's reputation and scale to set industry standards.
  • Ensure the cybersecurity program remains a high-functioning asset with proven results.
  • Address evolving third-party risks, AI-driven vulnerabilities and emerging attack vectors with agility and precision.
  • Leverage existing systems to continuously optimize performance and resilience.
  • Foster trust through strong partnerships with clinical and operational teams, including Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Audit and clinical leaders to develop and implement best practices in cybersecurity.
  • Work closely with senior executives, including the CEO and Board of Directors, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Represent Cleveland Clinic in industry and governmental discussions to shape the future of healthcare cybersecurity.
  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration and shared purpose within a digitally advanced, cross-functional team.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members, ensuring sustained operational and strategic success.
