Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) powers the American Express global payments network, enabling more than $1.7 trillion in annual spend across 170+ markets. The GMNS Product Team is responsible for driving products, capabilities, and partnerships that enable merchants, acquirers, ISVs, and payment facilitators to connect to the American Express Network with speed, scale, and reliability. This newly created Vice President (VP) position will report to the Executive Vice President, Acquirer Product and Deputy Head of GMNS Product. The VP will play a pivotal role in ensuring GMNS Product has the right risk and control strategy, driving key transformational initiatives and uplifting the GMNS Product Operations activities. Along with their team, the successful candidate will ensure GMNS Product has robust processes, procedures and controls in place. They will lead the design and implementation of initiatives to ensure the business is managed in accordance with risk appetite, as well as mitigate new risks as they arise, in accordance with the company’s risk framework and policy. The leader of this team will ensure GMNS Product is effectively positioned to identify, remediate and reduce risk, serving as a key liaison and partnering with market Business Operations teams, GMNS Operations teams, Project Guardian PMO, Control Management, GCO and Compliance teams (among others).
