About The Position

As a Vice President of Business Development, your role would involve leading and driving the growth of the organization by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. You would be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand the organization's market presence, increase revenue, and forge strategic partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred; an MBA or JD is a plus
  • 15+ years in a similar role at a media company, content acquisition, operations or partnership role at other media companies, platforms or talent agencies
  • 8+ years of experience managing a team
  • Deep understanding of digital media economics and business models
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with the podcast industry/marketplace and enthusiasm for its future
  • Experience with entertainment & IP contracts
  • Experience managing other business development professionals
  • Solid quantitative and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to construct analytical models for guidance in acquisitions.
  • Communicate persuasively and effectively with keen attention to detail and nuance
  • Some knowledge of the current podcasting marketplace
  • Fluency with Excel or other quantitative modeling tools
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Lead High-Value Deal Strategy & Execution: Own the full lifecycle of major content deals across podcasting and satellite radio—from initial outreach or inbound pitch through negotiation, contract execution, and launch planning.
  • Collaborate Closely with Legal on Contract Negotiation: Work hand-in-hand with the Legal team to structure, negotiate, and finalize contract terms.
  • Develop & Present Business Cases: Collaborate with the Content Strategy & Analysis Team to build detailed financial models and strategic justifications for proposed partnerships.
  • Source and Cultivate Strategic Partnerships: Identify new business opportunities by proactively engaging with the content and creator ecosystem.
  • Drive Cross-Platform Content Strategy: Partner with programming and platform stakeholders to craft deals that maximize value across podcasting, satellite radio, and streaming.
  • Oversee Deal Implementation & Launch Coordination: Manage the post-deal process to ensure smooth execution and alignment across internal teams.
  • Act as Senior Point of Contact for Key Partners: Maintain high-level relationships with partners post-deal.
  • Internal Leadership & Executive Communication: Regularly update SiriusXM leadership on active deal negotiations, new opportunities, and strategic market developments.
  • Track Industry Trends & Competitive Landscape: Stay current on developments in the podcasting, radio, and broader media industries.
  • Manage & Mentor Business Development Team: Lead a team of business development professionals, setting strategic priorities, coaching team members, and driving accountability.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $215,000 to $279,000
  • Eligibility for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives
