About The Position

The Vice President, Business Development will spearhead strategic growth initiatives for Sirtex Medical, focusing on expanding market share and portfolio innovation in oncology and interventional radiology. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) in Business, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; expertise in interventional radiology is required.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in business development or strategic partnerships within the healthcare or life sciences industry, strong preference for a focus on oncology or interventional radiology.
  • Demonstrated success in executing complex deal negotiations, mergers, and acquisitions, with deep knowledge of healthcare regulations and market dynamics.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders in a global context.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the formulation and implementation of Sirtex's global business development strategy to expand portfolio innovation and market reach, aligning closely with oncology and interventional radiology trends.
  • Forge and manage high-impact partnerships, including joint ventures, licensing agreements, and acquisitions (small to medium sized deals), to elevate Sirtex's competitive edge in the oncology sector.
  • Drive deep analysis of global oncology and medical device markets, leveraging Boston's vibrant life sciences ecosystem to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the full cycle of business development transactions, including opportunity sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and contract negotiation, with a focus on long-term value creation.
  • Collaborate across functional teams, ensuring seamless integration of strategic initiatives into Sirtex's operational framework.
  • Deliver compelling business cases and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring alignment on long-term growth objectives.
