About The Position

Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Vice President & Area Manager, Transportation to join our Transportation Practice in San Antonio, Austin Texas, Houston or Dallas-Fort Worth! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance in one of our Texas offices. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in transportation or AEC industries.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful leadership and business development.
  • Project/Program experience with Texas transportation clients to include TxDOT.
  • Strong client connections and relationship-building abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Master's Degree in Business or Engineering Management.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead high-performing, collaborative teams aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Act as the primary representative of the transportation practice within the region, fostering stakeholder engagement and demonstrating commitment to the company's mission.
  • Establish a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and develops top talent while promoting professional growth and positive morale.
  • Oversee performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support career development for team members within the region.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies to expand market presence and drive revenue.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders, leveraging local market knowledge to identify new opportunities.
  • Lead strategic business development initiatives, including outreach, client engagement, and proposal strategies.
  • Actively participate in industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and partnerships.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term collaboration.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and delivering high-quality, tailored solutions.
  • Ensure operational excellence by overseeing budget development, financial performance, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Monitor and manage project performance to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Implement and promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency to meet business objectives.
