About The Position

The Office of the Vice President for Administration Finance (VPAF) seeks a student assistant to provide office staff support in the following ways: Clerical Support: Provide front desk support (reception, phones, scheduling), manage/distribute incoming mail, office supply inventory, maintain office supply needs list, organize supplies, maintain Xerox machines; conduct mail delivery, copying, and additional support to all VP office staff as needed. Assist in processing incoming documents. Communications: Assist staff with information, meeting schedules, and other details as directed in support of communication and marketing efforts (web, email, pamphlets, reports, etc.). Assist with developing, editing, and formatting content using Microsoft Office, Canva, and Adobe applications. Data Entry & Analysis: Maintain data, develop charts/graphs, and presentations using MS Office applications, Canva, Smartsheet, and other software, as needed. Other Project Support: Assist staff in various aspects of the design, planning, and implementation phases of projects for the VP’s Office. Event Support: Assist staff with logistics for meeting and event needs and provide on-site support to staff. Meetings/Office Events: Assist staff with the VPAF Office with preparation and breakdown for meetings and office events. Storage/kitchenette maintenance: Ensure proper supplies are in stock (waters, sanitizer wipes, hand sanitizers, etc.) Keep equipment and storage spaces tidy. Other duties as assigned The Student Assistant position provides opportunities for learning and training in the following areas: Project management Customer service and professionalism in interacting with leadership Marketing and implementation (including event management) Data analysis

Requirements

  • Self-starter and highly motivated to learn, with a positive customer service attitude
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to coordinate multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision at times
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester or who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated) or who is registered for the subsequent semester
  • Is in good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation or academic dismissal)
