About The Position

The Vice President of Partnerships and Account Management, California is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for Kooth’s largest and most strategic client relationship — the State of California. This individual will lead the strategic and operational integration of Kooth’s services across California’s behavioral health ecosystem. They will be accountable for embedding Soluna as a trusted, sustainable component of the state’s youth mental health infrastructure — driving usage, demonstrating measurable impact, systemic alignment and securing long-term funding. Working closely with senior internal leaders, state and system stakeholders, and community partners, this leader will develop and deliver a strategic roadmap that ensures contract renewal and growth as well as additional growth opportunities across the state.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ senior level experience leading strategic partnerships, business development, or account management in healthcare, behavioral health, or digital health.
  • Proven success and significant experience in managing high-value, complex partnerships in the public sector including leading state level government affairs, and with managed care organisations and payer/insurance dynamic at scale, ideally within California and ideally alongside the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of California’s behavioral health and policy landscape, including funding mechanisms, advocacy dynamics, and public-private collaboration.
  • Exceptional strategic planning, program management, and communication skills, able to influence at the most senior levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across product, service delivery, and policy teams.
  • A data-driven and outcomes-oriented approach, with a focus on sustainable growth and measurable impact.
  • Skilled in relationship building, stakeholder influence, and narrative storytelling grounded in evidence and empathy.
  • Willingness to travel across California (up to 40%).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the executive lead for Kooth’s California partnership, ensuring alignment with state priorities and sustained program performance.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for embedding Soluna within California’s youth mental health ecosystem, ensuring integration across managed care organisations, education, community, and healthcare settings.
  • Act as Kooth’s senior external representative with state and county agencies, policymakers, managed care organisations and community organisations.
  • Drive collaboration with state leadership and system partners to strengthen understanding, advocacy, and adoption of the service.
  • Lead overall contract performance, ensuring delivery against KPIs, outcomes, and impact measures.
  • Translate data insights and program metrics into compelling narratives that demonstrate value and inform future policy and funding decisions.
  • Oversee usage and engagement strategies, ensuring continued growth, high-quality delivery, and evidence-based improvement.
  • Identify risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to maintain program integrity and stakeholder confidence.
  • Build and maintain high-trust relationships with state and regional decision-makers, including agency leaders, legislators, managed care organisations and community partners.
  • Coordinate internal alignment across clinical, product, research, marketing, and service delivery teams to ensure a cohesive approach to partnership success.
  • Serve as the key liaison between Kooth’s leadership team and California-based partners to ensure clarity, responsiveness, and transparency.
  • Lead the development of funding and renewal strategies, positioning Soluna for long-term sustainability and growth in California.
  • Identify and advance opportunities for expansion into new counties, systems, or funding pathways.
  • Collaborate with the internal and external stakeholder to influence state-level behavioral health and digital care initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing partnerships and account management team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence across cross-functional teams.
  • Model Kooth’s values and act as a visible senior leader across the organization and external ecosystem.
