The Vice President for Academic Affairs / Provost is the university's chief academic officer, providing strategic leadership, vision, and direction for all academic programs and services.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution.
  • A record of distinguished academic achievement suitable for a faculty appointment at the rank of professor.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive academic leadership experience in higher education.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for all academic units, including colleges, schools, libraries, and academic support services.
  • Oversee faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, tenure, and promotion processes.
  • Foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable academic environment that supports faculty excellence and shared governance.
  • Support academic deans, department chairs, and program directors in achieving institutional and academic goals.
  • Champion academic policies and practices that promote student retention, persistence, and completion.
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and other divisions to ensure a seamless student experience.
  • Promote high-impact practices including undergraduate research, service learning, and experiential learning.
  • Ensure institutional and program-level accreditation standards are met and maintained.
  • Support faculty research, grant acquisition, and scholarly productivity across disciplines.
  • Develop partnerships with public and private sectors to advance academic innovation and knowledge transfer.
