About The Position

The Vice Chancellor for the Office of Research and Innovation at North Carolina State University is responsible for providing dynamic leadership to enhance the university's research enterprise. Requirements

• A doctoral degree and credentials to support the rank of Professor with tenure.
• Strong record of accomplishment appropriate for appointment as a tenured full Professor.
• Proven expertise in obtaining federal funding and enhancing federal support.
• Experience in technology transfer and commercialization.
• Demonstrated leadership and administrative ability in a comparable institution.
• Outstanding administrative and personnel management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other leaders and units.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the research enterprise within NC State.
• Strengthen links with the external community and expand partnerships.
• Articulate and implement the overall research and partnership vision.
• Advise on major developing issues related to policy, regulations, and institutional structure.
• Develop and nurture relationships across NC State colleges and with external partners.
• Grow research funding and expand the research portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and manage risks associated with partnerships and agreements.
• Support faculty in their research efforts and mentor them in obtaining funding.
• Oversee the development of policies related to technology transfer and intellectual property.
