Vice Chair of Technology and Innovation Department of Radiation Oncology Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. Harvard Medical School The Department of Radiation Oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston is actively seeking full-time Radiation Oncology faculty members with expertise in their selected disease site subspecialty to serve as the Vice Chair of Technology and Innovation. As a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, BIDMC and the Department of Radiation Oncology, provide a clinically advanced and supportive academic environment for residents, fellows, and faculty. We’re also proud and excited to be an integral part of the landmark collaboration among Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England’s only freestanding adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will provide unparalleled opportunities for radiation oncology and other physician specialties to be part of DFCI’s internationally recognized cancer team. As Vice Chair of Technology and Innovation, this individual will provide strategic leadership for the advancement and integration of emerging technologies across the Department of Radiation Oncology. The Vice Chair will oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new imaging and treatment delivery platforms, including particle therapy capabilities, ensuring thoughtful adoption that enhances clinical quality, safety, and patient outcomes. Serving as the department’s primary liaison to industry partners, the Vice Chair will guide technology assessment, vendor engagement, and innovation strategy while aligning investments with institutional priorities. In close collaboration with physics and research leadership, they will foster translational and clinical research initiatives, coordinate technical validation and implementation efforts, and promote a culture of continuous innovation across clinical and academic missions. Responsibilities will include clinical care with a focus on their selected disease site subspecialty in radiation oncology, teaching and research activity at the Main Campus in Boston as appropriate with an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to be determined based on experience and qualifications. This role is an employment model position in Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Following regulatory approval, successful candidates will also provide clinical care at DFCI.
