About The Position

As part of Marlborough’s continued effort to expand excellence in education, we are excited to continue the Violets for Building Equity in Education (ViBEE) Fellowship. The ViBEE program helps us ensure that our students of color have the opportunity to see themselves reflected in their educators and that every student benefits from the perspective of a diversified faculty. This unique fellowship program contributes to building a teaching community that more closely reflects the diversity and culture of our broader community. ViBEE Fellows work in partnership with a mentor teacher while engaging in classroom instruction and participating in professional development and training workshops. All ViBEE fellows are supported by a teaching salary commensurate with a part-time faculty appointment and enroll in coursework to earn a fully-funded Master of Arts in Educational Studies from Loyola Marymount University . Requirements

Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree
Must be a graduate of Marlborough School
Must identify as an alumna of color
Strong interest in the school community
Respect for cultural diversity
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and seek help when needed
Highly motivated and independent, yet team-oriented
Adaptable mindset and flexible attitude
Willingness to accept and adapt to feedback
Must be able to work on-site in central Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

Train and teach alongside Marlborough faculty while concurrently earning a Master's degree in educational studies.
Work closely with the ViBEE Program Head and a mentor teacher at Marlborough to co-teach two courses and develop the skills necessary to thrive in independent schools, community-minded organizations, and the world beyond.
Enroll in the interdisciplinary Educational Studies Program at the Loyola Marymount School of Education.

In addition to the specified roles listed in the position description above, the fellow may also be asked to participate in one or more opportunities for hands-on leadership. This may include providing additional support to the community as an advisor, grade-level team member, event chaperone, substitute, etc.
