About The Position

The Vetting Inspector III position at Marathon Petroleum is a full-time role focused on compliance and assurance within the MPLX Inland Marine Department. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; college diploma preferred.
• Valid driver's license and TWIC certification required.
• 5 years of related terminal or vessel operations experience required.
• Previous survey, inspection, and/or audit experience required.
• Prior Coast Guard marine inspection and operational experience or industry credentialed/operational experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Merchant mariners with previous surveying and auditing experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform regulatory vessel surveys and Cat 3 vessel SIREs.
• Complete third-party marine terminal inspections and barge fleet assessments.
• Conduct vessel and management TSMS Audits.
• Monitor and analyze risk/performance trends.
• Support internal TMSA.
• Conduct Third Party Vessel Operator Management Audits.
• Perform Third Party Operator, Vessel and Fleet vetting.
• Support marine casualty investigations.
• Serve as a marine consultant to internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate and support safety practices/risk assessments and Management of Change.
• Liaison with Coast Guard, ABS, and other stakeholders on compliance and assurance matters.
