About The Position

Our state-of-the-art dermatology practice is seeking a dedicated and experienced veterinary technician to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to specialize in dermatology, working alongside renowned veterinarians and specialists, and expanding expertise in a niche field. The clinic is equipped with the latest technology and tools to deliver exceptional care. Animal Dermatology Group (ADG) is the largest veterinary dermatology business in the U.S., providing the highest quality of specialty care to pets with acute and chronic skin conditions across over 40 locations nationwide. With over 90 doctors, ADG strives to lead in clinical practice, research, and education, participates in drug/product development and clinical trials, and runs the largest dermatology residency program approved by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.

Requirements

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary medicine
  • Proficiency in Anesthesia required if applying as CVT
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Phlebotomy (if applying as CVT)
  • Preparing and restraining animals during procedures
  • Anesthetic monitoring (if applying as CVT)
  • Assisting in surgery (if applying as CVT)
  • Apply bandages and/or splints
  • Wound care
  • Ability to use a stethoscope and otoscope
  • Advising pet owners on proper care, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interest or experience in dermatology is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate excellent relations with client/ pets in the waiting area and exam rooms
  • Exceed the client’s expectations of service
  • Compassionate nursing care is the top priority for all patients
  • Housekeeping/ maintenance
  • Ability to perform a cursory examination of an animal
  • Ability to recognize potential patient issues
  • Clearly communicate your findings to a doctor
  • Record keeping
  • Fill prescription and dispense medications as prescribed by the doctor, etc.
