More about the Role The Veterinary Technician assists the veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment, monitors hospitalized pets, maintains inventory, prepares prescriptions, performs routine in-house laboratory work, educates clients regarding veterinary care and procedures, and assists with surgical procedures. Hours: Mon–Fri: 8 a.m – 12 p.m & 2 p.m – 6 p.m Wed: 8 a.m – 1 p.m & 2 p.m – 5 p.m Sat: 8 a.m – 1 p.m Pay range: $18 - $20 Please note Credentialed and/or highly experienced candidates may negotiate higher pay range based on skill set. MUST be proficient in: Draw bloods (canine/ feline) IVC placement (canine/ feline) Monitoring vitals pre/during/ post anesthesia Intubation/ extubation Dental prophylaxis Positioning for x-rays (proficiency in dental x-ray positioning a bonus) Competencies Patience & Compassion: Remaining professional while still making teammates, clients, and patients feel as comfortable as possible regardless of the situation or challenges presented. Organization Skills : Clear tracking of lab specimens, medications, patient instructions, workflow, and other job-related items while managing multiple patients and clients. Client Satisfaction: Ensuring all activities and interactions result in the highest level of client satisfaction.
