About The Position
VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is expanding its Primary Care (General Practice) service and is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join its collaborative team. This role offers a great opportunity for a technician who enjoys building client relationships, practicing high-quality medicine, and fully utilizing their technical skills in a supportive hospital environment. Requirements
- Anesthesia experience
- 2+ years experience required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Time management skill
Responsibilities
- Focus on preventative medicine, dentistry, anesthesia, and patient diagnostics
- Utilize a wide range of technical skills
- Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Conduct patient assessments and assist with physical examinations
- Perform laboratory sample collection and diagnostic testing
- Prepare for surgery and assist with procedures
- Maintain sterile surgical conditions
- Monitor anesthesia for soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures
- Perform dentistry and dental radiography
- Administer laser therapy treatments
- Perform pharmacy duties and medication preparation
- Provide discharge instructions and client education
- Assist with post-operative patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and estimates
- Collaborate with technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive consistent, high-quality care
