About The Position

VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is expanding its Primary Care (General Practice) service and is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join its collaborative team. This role offers a great opportunity for a technician who enjoys building client relationships, practicing high-quality medicine, and fully utilizing their technical skills in a supportive hospital environment. Requirements

  • Anesthesia experience
  • 2+ years experience required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management skill

Responsibilities

  • Focus on preventative medicine, dentistry, anesthesia, and patient diagnostics
  • Utilize a wide range of technical skills
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Conduct patient assessments and assist with physical examinations
  • Perform laboratory sample collection and diagnostic testing
  • Prepare for surgery and assist with procedures
  • Maintain sterile surgical conditions
  • Monitor anesthesia for soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures
  • Perform dentistry and dental radiography
  • Administer laser therapy treatments
  • Perform pharmacy duties and medication preparation
  • Provide discharge instructions and client education
  • Assist with post-operative patient care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and estimates
  • Collaborate with technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive consistent, high-quality care
