About The Position

Priority Pet Urgent Care is opening a brand new, state-of-the-art clinic in Lexington, KY, in mid-May 2026. The clinic will provide urgent care for pets 7 days a week from 12 noon to 10 PM. The company is actively seeking experienced and motivated veterinary technicians to join their team and help achieve their vision. The role involves a variety of duties including animal restraint, patient triage, lab sample collection and analysis, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases, medication administration, client communication, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. The position requires the ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Requirements

  • 2+ years professional experience as a veterinary technician
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Availability to work weekend shifts
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
  • Unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting

Nice To Haves

  • A Licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license in Kentucky
  • Additional skills in dental radiography
