About The Position

VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is expanding its Primary Care (General Practice) service and is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join its collaborative team. This role offers an opportunity for a technician who enjoys building client relationships, practicing high-quality medicine, and fully utilizing their technical skills in a supportive hospital environment. The Primary Care technicians at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital focus on preventative medicine, dentistry, anesthesia, and patient diagnostics, benefiting from the support of a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital for advanced care. The hospital is an emergency, specialty, and primary care facility serving the Aurora community, where teams collaborate across services to provide comprehensive care using advanced diagnostics, modern equipment, and progressive treatment options. Requirements

  • Anesthesia experience
  • 2+ years experience required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management skill

Responsibilities

  • Focus on preventative medicine, dentistry, anesthesia, and patient diagnostics
  • Utilize a wide range of technical skills
  • Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Patient assessments and assisting with physical examinations
  • Laboratory sample collection and diagnostic testing
  • Surgical preparation and assisting with procedures
  • Maintaining sterile surgical conditions
  • Anesthesia monitoring for soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures
  • Dentistry and dental radiography
  • Laser therapy treatments
  • Pharmacy duties and medication preparation
  • Providing discharge instructions and client education
  • Assisting with post-operative patient care
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and estimates
  • Collaborate with technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive consistent, high-quality care
