Veterinary Technician – All Levels (Training Provided) Are you passionate about animal care and looking to grow your skills in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment? Join our team as a Veterinary Technician at Spay Neuter Network! Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced RVT, we provide training at all levels to help you succeed. Job Summary Responsible for the daily care of surgical patients, assisting veterinarians and team members with pre-, peri-, and post-operative care, maintaining clinic flow, and ensuring patient safety. Duties range from basic animal handling and cleaning to advanced anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance , depending on experience and training.
Responsibilities
- Triage patients at check-in and report health concerns to veterinarians.
- Assist with restraint, anesthesia induction, intubation, and surgical prep.
- Monitor anesthesia and recognize abnormal conditions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper labeling of kennels and patients.
- Assist with recovery and post-operative care, including client education.
- Administer vaccines during wellness clinics or events.
- Greet clients and obtain accurate patient history .
- Explain basic veterinary concepts and post-op instructions clearly.
- Provide medication counseling and answer client questions professionally.
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats (average 50 per day).
- Identify behavioral cues and use appropriate safety equipment for fractious or fearful animals.
- Clean and sterilize surgical packs, manage laundry, and maintain a clean recovery area.
- Restock medications and supplies; assist with general cleaning as needed.
- Support transport coordination and intake/release of patients.
