Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting.
• Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
• Familiarity with veterinary pharmacy and medication dosage calculations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic towards animals and their owners.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and occasional holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in all aspects of animal care, including examinations, surgeries, and treatments.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by veterinarians.
• Perform laboratory tests, such as bloodwork and urinalysis, and accurately record and interpret results.
• Take and develop radiographs (X-rays) and assist in interpreting findings.
• Monitor animals before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures.
• Educate and advise pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, medication administration, and post-operative care.
• Assist with maintaining accurate and organized patient records.
• Provide compassionate support to pet owners during difficult times, including euthanasia procedures.
