We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant with experience in urgent or emergency care. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, clinical knowledge, and a passion for providing outstanding patient care.

Requirements

  • Current and valid California RVT license OR 5+ years of veterinary nursing experience
  • Proficiency in animal handling, restraint, and nursing care
  • Solid knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment, including radiology and lab equipment
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
  • Must maintain or obtain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire (waived for RVTs)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in urgent care or emergency veterinary settings is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Perform triage and administer immediate care to incoming patients
  • Collect and record patient history, vital signs, and presenting symptoms
  • Assist veterinarians during medical procedures and treatments
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Conduct laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and cytology
  • Monitor patients under sedation or recovering from procedures
  • Educate clients on home care and medication administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Perform accurate mathematical calculations for medications, CRIs, invoices, and estimates
  • Communicate with professionalism, empathy, and discretion in all interactions
