About The Position

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is seeking compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the intake process, providing essential veterinary care to animals entering our shelter. Your responsibilities will include conducting health assessments, administering vaccinations, and collaborating with the veterinary team to ensure the well-being of our animals.

Requirements

• Experience in a veterinary setting, preferably in a shelter or rescue environment
• Strong knowledge of animal health and behavior
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have experience/ be proficient with blood draws and have recent experience as a vet tech
• Must be able to lift 50lbs +
• Schedule includes working weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform health assessments on incoming animals
• Administer vaccinations and basic medical treatments
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of medical treatments
• Provide compassionate care to animals in need
