About The Position

VCA Amherst Animal Hospital, located in Butte, MT, is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join their AAHA-accredited, small animal general practice. Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians are trusted by our Veterinarians. Our team works together seamlessly to provide exceptional care to each patient from intake to discharge. We are dependable, adaptable, fun, and detail-oriented. You are a seasoned Veterinary Technician and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in.

Requirements

• Must have a current veterinary technician license in the state of Oregon or be eligible to transfer/obtain a license in Oregon.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
• Venipuncture and IVC placement.
• Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
• Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
• Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
• Provide discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
• Complete estimates and basic record keeping.
• Surgical preparation and assisting.
• Anesthesia monitoring.
• Dentistry and dental radiographs.
