About The Position
As a Veterinary Technician at Nueces Veterinary Hospital, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include performing diagnostic tests and radiographs, administering medications, vaccines, and treatments, and providing emergency first aid or general nursing care. You will be expected to observe and report on the behavior and condition of animals, ensuring that they receive the best possible care during their visit. Additionally, you will be responsible for restraining animals for examination or treatment, preparing animals and instruments for surgery, administering anesthesia, and assisting veterinarians during medical procedures. Your role will also involve collecting and recording animal case histories, which is essential for maintaining accurate medical records. You will have the opportunity to educate animal owners on home care, helping them understand how to best care for their pets after treatment. The position requires physical strength, as you will need to lift at least 50 lbs and perform blood draws.
