About The Position

The surgery department at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital is comprised of 4 board-certified surgeons, a surgery intern, and rotating interns. Because we are a referral hospital, we see a lot of unique and challenging cases. We are looking for technicians who are flexible, adaptable, and driven and who have an interest in advancing their anesthesia skills, surgical knowledge, and patient care.

Requirements

• Experience working as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician and confidence in anesthesia
• Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and their owners
• Positive outlook, ability to work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment, and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
• Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun

Responsibilities

• Patient pre-op preparation and post-op monitoring
• Patient sedation and anesthesia induction and monitoring
• Radiography and assisting the surgeons both in and out of the OR
• Client communication and admitting/discharging patients as needed
